Syracuse Model Neighborhood Facility, Inc. (SMNF), the SUYDC applicant organization, was founded in SMNF logo1974 for the purpose of providing a network of human services to residents of the predominantly African-American, low-income neighborhood of Syracuse known as the Southwest area. SMNF operates the Southwest Community Center (SWCC); its service delivery system is based on a consortium of tenant agency and outside agency services in combination with SWCC’s own programs to provide multiple services to meet the full range of needs of neighborhood residents.

Individuals, families and communities should have services available to support their expressed needs. The southwest community deserves a stable, safe and professional facility.
